I write voluminously and I write for myself. Although my narrative is certainly addressing more than my own inner thought, the purpose of this live journal is strictly for my own future use as memoribilia.

If you don't like long posts, you need not apply.

I'm an artist, basically, from Southern Canada. It's the swiftest way to group all of my creative endeavours. Ironically, what people generally see as an 'artist' is the only art form I don't take part in. Music, drama, writing. These are the main three. My involvement breaks down into specific elements of all three. I write music both for my independent band, Uvenburd, as well as for movie soundtracks. As for drama, I've been on stage 90% of the time since I began being on stage in 1999. But I've written plays, I've directed plays, I've starred in films, I've written and directed films, I've been all over the cinematic map. Currently I'm outlining a musical treatment of the life of Edgar Allen Poe, and shooting a flick about porn stars.

As for writing, what haven't I done? At a very young age I used to draw pictures for silly children's books I would write. Silly stories about 'hair-people' and 'eyeball-people' and 'nose-people' who find magical devices, like swords and jewels, and go on adventures. Thinly masked Legend Of Zelda rip-offs. At twelve I began writing a novel, which by fourteen I'd completed in its existing 354 page state. It's not very good. It will never see the light of day. A fantasy novel based off of Magic: The Gathering characters. I've since tried drafting the piece a dozen or so times, with up-to-date skill-level. But I haven't really had long prose in my blood since I finished that book.

I've written volumes of poetry. Approximately six and a half hundred poems. Out of which, a handful would I consider worthy for the ages.

So, that's the artist in me.

The major events of my life include being molested at seven, getting into the gifted program at eight, accidentally burning the top half of my house down at fourteen, meeting Annette Green, Rose Gowling, and Natalia Manley all at sixteen (all of whom I would have one manner of romantic entanglement with), being misdiagonsed as a schizophrenic at seventeen, being hit by a car at eighteen and subsequently institutionalized (as a result of the meds from the misdiagnosing), ending my love affair with Annette at twenty, getting a job at twenty-one, losing my friend Erin to religion, deciding to take Creative Writing at McMaster University, finding the latest (and most promising) love of my life, Simone Deahl just weeks before my twenty-second and her seventeenth birthdays. We since been dating for half a year, and remain deeply in love. I passed my first round of university with flying colours. Round two going similarly. Turned my live journal into more of a creative warehouse of my copyrighted work. Changed Uvenburd to Ovenbird. Still rockin'.

Feel free to ask non-post-related questions about any of the above info. I'm pretty open.
